GOP Rallies Around Harry

The Democrat and Chronicle cites the upcoming convention as a battle zone, but Harry isn't part of that, having won the support of Republicans across the board. Here's an excerpt:
The party is in a pitched battle over its gubernatorial candidate and its challengers against Gillibrand and Schumer. The GOP has rallied around its comptroller candidate Harry Wilson of Scarsdale, Westchester County, and will likely back Staten Island District Attorney Daniel Donovan for attorney general.
But after that, the Republicans' picture becomes clouded.

It is an enviable position to get the nomination without a primary. However, you are campaigning as if nothing is assured and the voters appreciate that.
I am particularly offended by my former candidate for governor Rick Lazio saying that primaries are bad for the party. That is nonsense. Competition improves the breed plain and simple. Republicans need to do less “top down” campaigning with ad agencies from Manhattan and consultants from Washington and more “grassroots up” campaigning.
We can win this year if the state and national GOP “leaders” get out of the way.
Glad to see the GOP is rallying around Wilson… pretty much across the board, everyone seems to agree hes well qualified and with some luck and the grace of the voters- the next Comptroller. Good luck Wilson- the best hope for a GOP resurgence.
